The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency is pleased to announce that the Affordable Apartment Locator is being upgraded. Thanks to funding by PHFA, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, the Pennsylvania Office of Long-Term Living, and the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, PAHousingSearch.com is a FREE service providing access to information about housing opportunities statewide. Properties can be described in great detail with pictures, maps, and information about nearby amenities like parks, schools, and hospitals. Property managers will have enhanced features such as search statistics, inventory tracking and an easy-to-use online-classifieds posting tool.  
 
To provide these improvements, PHFA has contracted with Socialserve.com, a national nonprofit and leading provider of affordable housing locator services. Socialserve.com offers a toll-free, multilingual call center to assist all users who lack access or don’t feel comfortable using the Internet.  
 
On February 3, 2011, all of the apartment locator listings in the Affordable Apartment Locator will be imported into the new statewide housing locator, PAHousingSearch.com. During February, you will be contacted by a Socialserve.com customer service representative to offer one-on-one assistance with optimizing your listing. Starting February 4, all updates will be handled through the new website.   
 
In early March, the Pennsylvania Affordable Apartment Locator will be redirected to PAHousingSearch.com. For your listings to be viewed when the site goes public, your information must be listed on PAHousingSearch.com by that time. Assistance from Socialserve.com will assure that the transition is smooth and simple.    
 
We appreciate your support for this enhanced and expanded housing locator service, which will serve as a powerful resource for both landlords and for Pennsylvanians in search of affordable housing. Property owners using PAHousingSearch.com will meet PHFA’s current requirements for posting vacancy information in a statewide marketing system.
